Privacy
Introduction
Smart Code Solutions LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Say What mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Privacy-first promise
Say What is built to keep your conversations private. Your screenshots, pasted text, and generated replies are processed on your device. We do not upload or store your conversation content on our servers as part of normal App operation.
What the App processes (Your Content)
Say What may process screenshots of conversations (texts, DMs, emails), text you paste into the App, reply drafts generated from that content, and tone selections/regeneration requests. We do not receive this content on our servers. Your content is stored on your device and may also be stored/synced in your iCloud account if you have iCloud enabled for the App.
Information we collect
We do not collect or store your conversation content on our servers, including screenshots you import, text you paste, or reply drafts generated by the App.
We collect limited technical data to improve the App:
-
Analytics data (via Amplitude): device type and OS version, app version, approximate session duration, and feature usage events (e.g., creating a reply draft, regenerating, copying). Analytics does not include your screenshots, pasted text, or reply content.
-
Error and crash data (via Sentry): crash logs, stack traces, and device state at the time of a crash (e.g., OS version, memory). Crash reports do not intentionally include your conversation content; however, diagnostic logs may sometimes include limited technical context (like screen names or error messages). We design the App to avoid sending your conversation content through these tools.
iCloud storage and sync
Say What may store and sync your app data using Apple iCloud if enabled. This can include saved reply drafts, conversation cards/metadata you keep, and app settings. iCloud is provided and controlled by Apple under Apple’s terms and policies. We do not operate iCloud and do not control Apple’s systems. We do not have access to the contents of your iCloud account. If iCloud is disabled for the App, your data remains on-device (subject to device and backup settings).
How we use information
We use analytics and crash data only to improve performance and reliability, fix bugs, and understand feature usage. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.
Sharing of information
We share limited technical data with:
-
Amplitude (analytics): https://amplitude.com/privacy
-
Sentry (crash reporting): https://sentry.io/privacy/
We do not share your conversation content because we do not receive it on our servers.
Data retention
Your content is stored on-device and/or in your iCloud account depending on your settings. Analytics and crash data are retained according to our configuration and provider retention policies.
Your choices and rights
You can manage iCloud sync/storage for Say What in iOS settings, delete your app data, and contact us with privacy questions. You may request deletion of analytics data associated with your device to the extent we can reasonably identify and remove it.
How to delete your data
-
Delete App data from iCloud: iOS Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Account Storage/Manage Storage → Say What → Delete Data / Delete Documents & Data.
-
Delete on-device data: delete the App to remove local data.
Children’s privacy
Say What is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect the limited analytics and crash data we collect. Your content is protected by your device security and iCloud protections under Apple’s systems.
International users
Analytics and crash reporting providers may process limited technical data in the United States and other countries. Your conversation content remains on your device and/or in your iCloud account.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time by updating the Effective Date and posting the updated policy.
