Privacy Policy

Effective Date: January 29, 2026

Introduction

Smart Code Solutions LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the TLDR mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Privacy-First Promise

TLDR is built to keep your content private. Your documents, extracted text, summaries, audio, and searches are processed on your device. We do not upload or store your content on our servers as part of normal App operation.

What TLDR Processes (Your Content)

TLDR may process content you add to the App, such as:

  • Documents, PDFs, screenshots, and images

  • Text extracted from those items (including OCR)

  • Summaries and related outputs (including audio)

  • Custom prompts and questions you ask about your content

  • Searches you perform inside the App

We do not receive this content on our servers. Your content is stored on your device and may also be stored/synced in your iCloud account (see “iCloud Storage & Sync” below).

Information We Collect

1) Content You Use in the App

We do not collect or store your content on our servers, including:

  • Documents, images, files, or screenshots you capture/import

  • Extracted text

  • Summaries (short or long)

  • Audio generated from summaries

  • Custom prompts or questions about your content

  • Your in-app searches

2) Limited Technical Data (Analytics)

To improve TLDR and understand what features are used, we collect limited usage analytics via Amplitude. This may include:

  • Device type and operating system version

  • App version

  • Approximate session duration and feature usage (e.g., opening the app, starting a capture, generating a summary)

  • General interaction events (e.g., navigation, taps)

Analytics data does not include your documents, extracted text, summaries, audio, prompts, or searches.

3) Error & Crash Reports

To fix bugs and improve reliability, we collect crash and diagnostic data via Sentry, which may include:

  • Crash logs and stack traces

  • Device state at time of crash (e.g., memory use, OS version, battery level)

  • App performance/diagnostic metadata

Crash reports do not intentionally include your documents, extracted text, summaries, or audio.

However, like most crash reporting tools, diagnostic logs may sometimes include limited technical context from the moment of the crash (for example, the name of a screen or an internal error message). We do not intend to collect content and we design the App to avoid sending your content through these tools.

iCloud Storage & Sync

TLDR may store and sync your TLDR data using Apple iCloud if you have iCloud enabled for the App. This can allow backup and syncing across devices signed into the same Apple ID.

If iCloud is enabled for TLDR, the following may be stored in your iCloud account:

  • Captures and metadata

  • Imported images/files

  • Extracted text

  • Summaries (short and long)

  • Audio generated from summaries

  • App settings and related metadata

Important notes:

  • iCloud is provided and controlled by Apple. Your use of iCloud is governed by Apple’s terms and privacy policies.

  • TLDR does not operate iCloud and does not control Apple’s systems.

  • We do not have access to the contents of your iCloud account.

If you disable iCloud for TLDR, your TLDR data will remain on-device (subject to your device and backup settings).

Information We Do Not Collect (Summary)

To be absolutely clear, we do not collect or store on our servers:

  • Your documents, screenshots, images, PDFs, or files

  • Extracted text or OCR results

  • Summaries (short or long)

  • Audio outputs

  • Custom prompts or questions about your content

  • In-app searches or search indexes derived from your content

How We Use the Information We Collect

We use analytics and crash data only to:

  • Improve App performance and user experience

  • Identify and fix bugs

  • Understand feature usage (e.g., which features are most useful)

  • Make product decisions (what to build next)

We do not:

  • Sell your data

  • Use your data for advertising

  • Use your data to build profiles for third-party marketing

Sharing of Information

We share limited technical data with the following providers:

Amplitude (Analytics)

  • Purpose: Product analytics and feature improvement

  • Data shared: Usage events + device/app metadata (no content)

  • Provider policy: https://amplitude.com/privacy

Sentry (Crash Reporting)

  • Purpose: Crash reporting and error diagnosis
